As I write this article, the bill is still in committee, and Nebraska Cattlemen is engaged daily to help solve this issue with a compromise that would mark the first significant change since 1992. As an organization, we know that we donʼt have to find issues to address, but that they will find us (think banning fake meat, labeling laws, education, taxes, etc.). But rest assured, the issues that matter to our members will be thoroughly debated and solutions will be found through our unique organization – Nebraska Cattlemen! ~NC~ INSIGHTS CONTINUED FROM PAGE 8 Denton 1,440 sq ft 3 BR 2 Baths & Office You Deserve a 1-888-927-3272 1230 E 9th Minden, NE 614 Maple Clay Center, KS Click for a Price Quote at wardcraft.com Wardcraft Home! The competition is targeted toward youth who are passionate about the beef industry. Contestants will also participate in a beef advocacy training workshop to help them increase their beef industry knowledge, catch up on current events and develop a network to stay connected. Nebraska Beef Ambassador Program The Nebraska Beef Ambassador Program provides an opportunity for youth, ages 14-24, to become spokespersons and future leaders for the beef industry. The two divisions, senior and collegiate, are judged on a media interview and an issues response. The contest is sponsored by Farm Credit Services of America and Purina. Cash prizes will be given to the winners. A scholarship from the Nebraska Cattlemen Research and Education Foundation is given to the collegiate winner. After the contest, participants will be encouraged to participate in consumer and education projects around the state as their schedule allows. The NCW Committee members organize several farm-to-school ag programs and promote beef at consumer events. For more information, contact Bonita at ncw@necattlemen.org or (402) 4500223 voice/text. A brochure and entry form are located on the Nebraska Cattlemen website. ~NC~
