USMARC is committed to ongoing research to address this important industry challenge. Additional research will explore the connection between liver abscesses and other illnesses throughout the animal’s lifetime. In addition, intensive research will investigate the connection between feeding behavior, ruminal acidosis, the rumen and gut microbiome and liver abscesses to inform additional management strategies. In the meantime, well-managed feeding programs remain the most effective way for producers to limit liver abscess losses. ~NC~ USMARC CONTINUED FROM PAGE 50
