Members were reminded about Nebraska Cattlemen’s partnership packages and Mary Bea Halimeh, NCBA director of membership and affiliate services, spoke about NCBA membership and their recent dues increase. Last, Dailey introduced the topic of an NC dues increase, and members discussed the benefits and concerns of raising dues. Feedlot Council NC’s Feedlot Council heard updates on recent litigation involving application of Nebraska’s brand statutes within the feeding industry, as well as NCBA feedlot investment schedule changes from NC Vice President of Policy Engagement Melody Benjamin. New Feedlot Council leadership was also elected, with Ryan Danehey elected Feedlot Council chairman for 2024 and Daron Huyser assuming the role of vice chairman. Seedstock Council The group discussed a few options to help with membership recruitment. The luncheon during the Nebraska State Fair is a great way to thank our members who are showing in the open show at the Nebraska State Fair. Reiss Bruning was elected as chair and James Felt as vice chair. Krista Dybdal completed her service on the Seedstock Council and will now serve on the Nominations Committee. Farmer-Stockman Council The Farmer-Stockman Council continues their popular beef draft giveaway at the Beef Pit during the Nebraska State Fair to honor our nation’s veterans and active-duty military servicemembers.
