He remembers beginning his involvement with NC while growing up attending meetings with his father and grandfather. The family is involved with Platte Valley Cattlemen, and Drinnin is now involved with Lower Loup Cattlemen. He says he was excited to transition to a new affiliate, and he serves on the Lower Loup Cattlemen Board of Directors. He hopes to help grow the Lower Loup Cattlemen affiliate. Drinnin grew up farming and feeding cattle, but he stepped away during college and went on to serve as a department manager at both Husker Auto Group and Menards in Lincoln. He began managing Drinnin West Cattle Co., when the family acquired it in 2010. His favorite part of the beef industry is providing a safe and quality product for consumers. “I am interested in selling more beef products overseas,” Drinnin says. “I like hearing about countries taking the product and receiving positive feedback and am interested in growing the overseas sector.” A few beef industry mentors Drinnin admires are his father Mike, rancher George Cooksley, and NC staff member Jeff Stolle. His favorite cut of steak is a ribeye with a loaded baked potato. Drinnin and his wife, Kelley, have three children. Drinnin enjoys traveling, golfing and spending time with his family. The family enjoys roasting marshmallows together over their firepit. One word Drinnin uses to describe NC is informative, and he enjoys his time on the NC Board. “I enjoy the board because I stay updated on issues,” Drinnin says. “I can also help relay issues to other members and cattlemen across the state.” ~NC~ MEET NC’S NEWEST BOARD MEMBERS CONTINUED FROM PAGE 92 To view the most current online edition of the Nebraska Cattleman magazine visit: https://www.nebraskacattlemen. org/nebraska-cattleman-magazine
