52 NEBRASKA CATTLEMAN February 2025 Meet NC’s Newest Board Members HANNAH PEARSON, NC MEMBERSHIP FIELD STAFF Quentin Dailey, Lexington Member Services Chair Quentin Dailey serves as the NC Member Services chair. He comes from a family operation in the heart of Dawson County that focuses on cow-calf production. Alongside the ranching operation, his family owns a custom cattle trucking business, connecting them to other facets of the industry. “The beef industry is always changing,” Dailey says. “From the weather to prices to new tools and technologies, every year or even day can bring new challenges – or projects – as I like to call them. Some are good and some not so good, but these changes keep the industry far from boring. And the people in this business are incredible, all working toward the same goal: providing a safe and wholesome product to feed the world.” Dailey’s journey with NC began when a neighbor invited him to a local affiliate meeting. Through active participation, he connected with fellow cattlemen and cattlewomen, sparking his interest in deeper involvement. He was later nominated for the Young Cattlemen’s Connection program, which opened doors for state-level leadership. In 2020, he served as the Member Services – Region 9 chair. Now on the board, Dailey is eager to help Nebraska Cattlemen build its momentum by gaining new members and encouraging greater involvement from current members while addressing their needs. His favorite cut of beef is a filet, paired with a side of macaroni and cheese. Dwight Dam, Hooper FarmerStockman Council Chair Dwight Dam serves as NC Farmer-Stockman Council chair. He developed an early interest in livestock through showing cattle and working on his family’s feedlot and farm. Dam graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1984. Looking back on a beef production class in college, Dam recalls staying up all night to help with calving and thinking he would never own cows. While the family no longer operates the feedlot, they have transitioned to cow-calf production and farming. One of Dam’s favorite parts of the beef industry is being around animals and watching them grow. Dam is an active member and past board member of the Washington County Cattlemen. He takes pride in the affiliate’s activities and is excited to further his involvement with Nebraska Cattlemen. He enjoys staying informed on Nebraska legislation and following discussions on NC policy. “Nebraska Cattlemen is a resilient organization,” Dam says. “I’m looking forward to being on the board and having the chance to meet people from across the state.” New Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) Board members were selected to serve membership in various roles during the Nebraska Cattlemen Annual Convention. Council chairs and vice chairs are elected by the council members they represent. Vice chairs of Member Services for each region are elected by the affiliate presidents in their regions, and committee chairs and chairs-elect are appointed by the Nebraska Cattlemen president. Meet the new leaders serving on the NC Board of Directors. PEOPLE
