He was accompanied by Steve Hanson, NC past president and current USMEF chair. Opening General Session The official opening general session of the NC 2024 Annual Convention was a celebration of many accomplishments by NC members, staff and leaders. President Jerry Kuenning opened the session and recognized contributions of outgoing board members, Top Hand membership recruiters and the 2024 Young Cattlemen’s Connections members. Former NC EVP Pete McClymont paid homage to retiring NC Vice President of Association Engagement Melody Benjamin, who was presented with custom leather artwork commemorating her years of service. NC Past President Brenda Masek spoke about the upcoming NC international travel trip to Portugal. NC member Buck Wehrbein spoke regarding his upcoming year as National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) president, an office he will assume at the Cattle Industry Convention in February.
