Fish: The availability of educational resources that are free and easy to access has leveled the playing field for learning. There are countless videos of good cattle handling and stockmanship in many situations available on YouTube and other outlets. Gill: To improve cattle handling one has to understand cattle behavior and how to apply the correct pressure at the right time. Just like any animal that we want to do certain things, we need to train cattle how to do it correctly. We train dogs and horses, but we are not very good at training people or cattle. Both of the latter are necessary to reap the benefits of improved stockmanship. Training cattle can be done as you work them, but people training needs to occur before you work cattle.
