Nebraska Director of Agriculture Sherry Vinton also spoke about the Nebraska Legislature and gave an overview of Nebraska agriculture. U.S. Sens. Pete Ricketts and Deb Fischer and Rep. Don Bacon also attended the banquet. PEOPLE The KEARNEY FRANKLIN CATTLEMEN gathers for a social and steaks in Minden on Jan. 22. NC Vice Chair of Member Services Region 9 Shannon Peterson provided information on recent NC activities. The affiliate recently reorganized and plans to have monthly meetings going forward. NC PRESIDENT JERRY KUENNING addresses Nebraska senators as they join the NC Board of Directors for the NC Annual Legislative Dinner on Jan. 24. Senators and NC leadership enjoyed a steak dinner and fellowship with members. CASS OTOE CATTLEMEN Board of Directors seated for 2024 are, left to right, Rod Keil, Bruce Kraeger, Sarah Kraeger, Jim Panska, Doug Wehrbein, Talia Goes and Bob Kraenow. Members met on Jan. 23 to vote and add two members to the affiliate’s board of directors. Raela Brandt, Otoe County Farm Service Agency (FSA) executive director, spoke about FSA programs that apply to livestock producers and shared upcoming program deadlines. The affiliate discussed reviewing their bylaws, and they announced plans for the upcoming Eastern Nebraska Cattle Conference. The NC OGALLALA AFFILIATE gathers at Front Street Steakhouse for an evening of fellowship on Jan. 17. Rick Funston with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln gave a presentation titled “Thinking Outside of the Box.” Affiliate members are working to recruit new members to join NC and participate in their affiliate’s events.
