70 NEBRASKA CATTLEMAN March 2024 PEERS NCF THANKS 25TH RVSC DONORS LEE WEIDE | NEBRASKA CATTLEMEN FOUNDATION SECRETARY The 25th Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation (NCF) Retail Value Steer Challenge (RVSC) began in November at Darr Feedlot with 161 steers on feed. The annual feeding competition is the primary fundraiser for the foundation with proceeds enabling NCF to meet its mission “To advance the future of Nebraska’s beef industry by investing in research and education programs.” The foundation is very appreciative to the 2024 RVSC donors (listed below), many of whom have been donors since the first RVSC. In addition, a special thanks to Darr Feedlot for our partnership and for hosting the Retail Value Steer Challenge for 25 years. The proceeds generated from the RVSC have been used to provide grants to youth programs, educational programs, college and university judging team support, beef promotion, research projects, infrastructure projects, historical preservation and youth scholarships. The results of the RVSC will be announced at the Nebraska Cattlemen Midyear Meeting in June, where donors will receive complete carcass data on their steers and prize money will be awarded for the top-performing steers. 21st Century Equipment Abiwill LLC Agrow Inc.
