38 NEBRASKA CATTLEMAN March 2026 Nebraska Cattlemen Stays Winning in Nashville Several Key Victories for the Beef State in Music City LIBBY SCHANEMAN | DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS Ihave an indescribable amount of pride walking into CattleCon as a Nebraska Cattlemen (NC) staffer with the privilege of working for the Beef State on a national stage. I wear the words “Nebraska Cattlemen” on my convention name tag like a badge of honor because I get to bear witness to the conversations shaping the beef cattle industry and work for a great group of people. It’s hard not to brag to people from other states about the representation we bring, the number of votes we carry and the undeniable influential leadership our members bring to the table. Starting from the top down, NC congratulates our very own Buck Wehrbein on a successful term as National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) president. It’s no easy feat to take time away from your operation and family to serve, and we can’t state enough how grateful we are for Buck. NC is also proud to have Mike Drinnin serving as chair of the Live Cattle Marketing Committee and Barb Cooksley serving as chair of the Property Rights and Environmental Management Committee.
