60 NEBRASKA CATTLEMAN March 2026 Todd Schlueter, Wood Lake Member Services Vice Chair – Region 7 Todd Schlueter lives in Blair with his wife, Janice, and has three daughters and two grandsons. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University with a degree in animal science. After college, he spent six years working in cattle procurement for a large meatpacker. He currently works for Cargill Branded Feed as a strategic pricing lead. In addition to his professional role, Schlueter remains closely involved in production agriculture by managing a registered Angus herd and a commercial cow herd at his family ranch near Wood Lake. He is encouraged by the beef industry’s ability to adapt while remaining rooted in tradition. Schlueter says advances in genetics, nutrition and data-based decision making are helping producers raise cattle more efficiently while also strengthening stewardship and sustainability. One area Schlueter is especially passionate about is strengthening communication across the beef supply chain. “Transparency, communication and trust across all segments of the industry are essential,” Schlueter says. He believes that when producers and industry partners better understand each other, it creates stronger outcomes for the entire industry. Schlueter has been an NC member for more than 20 years and served on the Washington County Cattlemen Association Board of Directors for six years. He chose to step into a leadership role because he believes in giving back to an industry that has given so much to his family. During his time on the NC Board, Schlueter hopes to strengthen communication between affiliates and Nebraska Cattlemen and improve collaboration and information sharing across the state. He looks forward to learning more about the policy process, meeting producers across Nebraska and building relationships that support the cattle industry. Schlueter encourages producers to become active Nebraska Cattlemen members to ensure their voices are heard and to strengthen advocacy, education and representation for the beef industry. ~NC~ © 2022 CNH Industrial America LLC. One area Baldwin is particularly passionate about is the beef checkoff. “I would encourage all producers to get their copy of The Drive publication that helps educate producers about how their checkoff dollars are used to promote the attributes of beef,” Baldwin says. Baldwin served two terms on the Cattlemen’s Beef Promotion and Research Board and says that experience allowed him to better understand how the checkoff program works. During his time on the NC board, Baldwin hopes to meet as many producers as possible and encourage greater advocacy for the beef industry in Nebraska. He looks forward to interacting with fellow producers, helping set policy and promote the beef industry. Outside of the beef industry, Baldwin enjoys spending time with his four grandchildren, remains active in his church and has recently completed several home remodeling projects. His favorite television show is The Rockford Files and his favorite beef meal is a prime rib. Baldwin encourages producers to become active Nebraska Cattlemen members to strengthen their collective voice with lawmakers and to build relationships with fellow beef producers.
