86 NEBRASKA CATTLEMAN March 2026 NC DISPATCH At Home on the Range The NCW Consumer and Producer Education Committee is ready to distribute beef activity books, kidfriendly recipes, production handouts and two reading books for spring Ag Venture programs. The committee just released a new education lesson to help students investigate rangelands by growing their own grass to represent a beef ranch. “At Home on the Range” was created for grades three through five with several activities for students to participate in. Loc al Affiliates Offer Scholarships Several NC affiliates offer scholarships for students in their area. Affiliates are excited to offer scholarships to students going into the ag industry. Many of these affiliates raise money during their spring membership or annual banquets to be able to provide students these opportunities. NC members and local businesses have strongly supported these scholarship programs by donating items, services and bidding. If you are a senior in high school or are currently attending college, visit with your local affiliate to see what opportunities are available for you. Direct questions to your local affiliate. Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation Scholarships The Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation (NCF) offers scholarships to qualified youth in Nebraska who have an interest in the beef industry. Since 1970, NCF has provided scholarships to students furthering their education goals through contributions received by donors to the Nebraska Cattlemen Foundation. Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year are available on the Nebraska Cattlemen website, nebraskacattlemen.org, or by calling the NCF office at (402) 475-2333.
