Goes says that board members study detailed materials, attend weekly webinars and participate in face-to-face meetings where they debate the merits of various funding requests. While the work is demanding, it’s also rewarding. Producers serving on the boards are dedicated to ensuring that funds are allocated in ways that maximize the benefit to the industry. The oversight and accountability built into the process provide confidence that Beef Checkoff dollars are being used effectively to promote and support the beef industry. LOOKING FORWARD Despite the challenges of budget cuts and reduced cattle numbers, both NBC and the national BPOC remain committed to supporting the beef industry. “It’s a privilege to be part of this process and contribute to the greater good of our industry,” Goes says. “We may face tough decisions, but in the end, it’s all about driving demand for beef and supporting producers.” ~NC~ To advertise in Nebraska Cattleman, contact sales representative Amber Coleman acoleman@necattlemen.org 1 COLUMN X 3” Black & White Nebraska Cattleman entine Livestock Auction November 2024 1-800-682-4874 ▪ (402) 376-3611 Valentine Livestock Auction Upcoming Sales: Mon., Nov. 4 - Special Bred Female & Regular Sale Thurs., Nov. 7 - Spring Calf Special Mon., Nov. 11 - Regular Sale Thurs., Nov. 14 - Special Calf Sale (weaned cfs) Mon., Nov. 18 - Special Bred Female & Regular Sale Sat., Nov. 23 - Pharo Cattle Co Bull Sale Thurs., Nov. 28 - No Sale, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! www.valentinelivestock.net
