When you have an idea or identify an issue affecting cattle producers, you can bring it to a local affiliate meeting, through one of NC’s six policy committees or even directly to the annual business meeting at convention. Policy can also originate in one of NC’s four producer councils; if adopted there, it will be referred to a committee for further review. Once a committee adopts new policy or affirms existing policy, the resolutions committee reviews each committee’s work, and the resolutions and policy statements are then presented to the annual meeting. Even if a policy proposal fails at any level, it can still be brought forward at the annual meeting. To vote, you must be a member – and it is never too late to join. Every vote matters, and every voice counts. The only way to give voice to an idea is to show up and support its adoption.
