NC hosts the annual BEEF FOR TROOPS event at the Nebraska State Fair on Sept. 1, serving beef drafts to military members on Veterans’ Appreciation Day. The YCC CLASS OF 2025 summer meeting includes a tour of Darr Feedyard from Craig Uden. During the meeting, NC’s Matthew Melchor also provided a legislative update. The NCW–CONSUMER PROMOTION AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE distributes coloring books, crayons and reading materials at the Nebraska Cattlemen Beef Pit during the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island. Aaron Yoder, standing, shares information about the Feedyard 15 Program – a free safety training curriculum available to cattle feedyard operations that addresses critical safety issues commonly found in the industry – during the SILAGE S.A.F.E. (Safety, Application, Feed and Employees) program on Aug. 19 in Beemer. The event was organized by Nebraska Cattlemen and sponsored by TH4AH Enterprises. CASS-OTOE CATTLEMEN members serve lunch to more than 300 youth and parents during the Otoe County Beef Show on Aug. 4. The event was a great success and generated several new membership applications.
