NEBRASKA CATTLEMEN (NC) officers Jerry Kuenning, Dick Pierce and Craig Uden, left to right, at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s (NCBA) Summer Business Meeting in San Diego. NC leadership engaged in policy committee discussions and participated on NCBA’s Board of Directors, as well as networked with fellow beef producers. Key issues discussed at the meeting included updates from NCBA staff on federal policy, live cattle marketing issues and potential changes on tax policies that affect cattle producers. The HARLAN COUNTY CATTLEMEN Board is all smiles after a four-man scramble golf tournament in Alma that serves as an affiliate fundraiser. The SAUNDERS COUNTY LIVESTOCK AND AG ASSOCIATION President Dan Kellner talks to Saunders County Fair goers, where the affiliate served steak sandwich meals to approximately 1,000 people. Affiliate volunteers sold tickets, served food and drinks, and helped with clean up. The function serves as a fundraiser for the affiliate’s activities. The YORK-HAMILTON CATTLEMEN serve grilled sirloin steak sandwiches for adults and hamburger meals for kids at the Hamilton County Fair (right) and steak sandwiches at the York County Fair (left). The meals were served by the York-Hamilton Cattlemen Board of Directors, members and volunteers from Hamilton County FFA chapters. The event is a free-will donation for attendees and serves as beef promotion in the community.
