When we were building our hog operation on the side, raising show pigs and planning our sale every year, they gave me time off, no questions asked.” The Timmermans never missed an opportunity to acknowledge Wolfe’s contributions. To mark 30 years with the company, they sent Wolfe and his wife, Diane, on an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii. Twenty years later, they hosted a big 50th anniversary party in Omaha. “I’ve always felt appreciated, always felt respected,” Wolfe says. “I see the way people today move from job to job so quickly. If I could share one piece of advice, it’d be this: When you’ve got a good job and work with good people, stick it out. There will be things you don’t like so much at times, but that doesn’t mean you have to quit. If the good outweighs the bad, I promise you brighter days are ahead.” In addition to his incredible career with Timmerman & Sons, Wolfe grew a successful show pig business that is consistently at the top in shows across the country.
